THE Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board,JAMB,has fixed Saturday, March 23,2019 for the conduct of the 2019 mock examination - ABUJA

“The public should therefore note that the mock examination as its name implies, would not be used for any assessment process,”the statement said.


It explained that “this year’s exercise is the third in the series of mock examinations conducted by the Board under the leadership of Prof. Is-haq Oloyede.”


Recall that mock examination was introduced in 2017 to give candidates the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the conduct of Computer Based Test, particularly, candidates who are not conversant with the use of computers.


” The Board would not want any candidate to be at a disadvantage position, hence the introduction of mock examination and other processes that would help the candidates during examination.


“The Board also uses the mock exercise to ascertain the readiness of its system and to appraise the candidates’ preparedness for the main examination

“This clarification becomes necessary because of insinuations from some quarters that marks from the mock examination would be added to scores obtained in the main examination,”JAMB explained in the statement.

Former South Korean president, Lee Myung Bak, granted bail

Former South Korean President, Lee Myung Bak, is set to be released from jail after he has been granted bail, local media reported.  Lee Myung Bak According to the Yonhap news agency, Lee, 77, who has been imprisoned on corruption charges since October, was granted bail by the Seoul High Court due to deteriorating health and other reasons.  He was handed a 15-year prison sentence for taking bribes while in office from 2008 to 2013.  READ ALSO: Israel ex-minister sentenced to 11 years for spying for Iran  The money came from the secret services, businesses and other organisations.
