Polls: IGP deploys 62 CPs,72 DCPs,143 ACPs, Force Hqtrs explains

THE Force Headqarters has explained that the acting Inspector General of Police,Mohammed Adamu, deployed a total of 62 Commissioners of police in the Saturday’s governorship and State Assembly election - ABUJA

It also said the police chief deployed 72 Deputy Commissioners of Police,DCPs even as it clarified that 143 Assistant Commissioners of Police were deployed for the elections. Force Public Relations Officer,ACP Frank Mba,in a statement, Wednesday night, tagged:”Addendum to our earlier press release”, explained that”,The total number of CPs deployed by the IGP as reflected in our earlier release includes;62 CPs, 72 DCPs and 143 ACPs giving a total of 277 Commissioners of Police.”

 “Note that under the Police Act and Regulations, Section 2, CAP P19, Laws of the Federation, 2004, Commissioner of Police means “a Commissioner of Police, Deputy Commissioner of Police or an Assistant Commissioner of Police“, the statement further explained.

Former South Korean president, Lee Myung Bak, granted bail

Former South Korean President, Lee Myung Bak, is set to be released from jail after he has been granted bail, local media reported.  Lee Myung Bak According to the Yonhap news agency, Lee, 77, who has been imprisoned on corruption charges since October, was granted bail by the Seoul High Court due to deteriorating health and other reasons.  He was handed a 15-year prison sentence for taking bribes while in office from 2008 to 2013.  READ ALSO: Israel ex-minister sentenced to 11 years for spying for Iran  The money came from the secret services, businesses and other organisations.
